Whale vomit price worth millions of pesos?

Whales are gigantic creatures that inhabit the oceans all over the world. Because they are now considered as endangered species, it is rare to witness one casually swimming in the middle of an ocean. But, in this surprising story, a fisherman reportedly stumbled upon a whale puke that can possibly cost millions of pesos. How is this possible?

According to Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, back in 1995, a fisherman in Camarines Sur spotted a black wood-like thing floating in the ocean. It was 3 feet high, 2 feet wide and weighs around 50 kilos. David Rodriguez Jr., the fisherman who saw it brought the thing home and made it into a small table.

Later on, a friend of his named Nelson did some research and discovered the possibility that the small table they were using could be an “ambergris” – a rare type of material used in the perfume industry. As it is a rare substance, the selling price for Ambergris is very high.

In fact, back in 2016, fishermen from Oman were able to sell Ambergris weighing 80 kilos for $3 million!

Arnel, a buy and sell businessman got really curious about the true nature of the black material that was in his possession that he eventually decided to seek help from Jessica Soho’s program to confirm his suspicion. A team was then organized to help Arnel.

Unfortunately, the sale of Ambergris is prohibited here in the Philippines. So, the still unidentified black thing in Arnel’s possession was left unidentified.

Nevertheless, it is still amusing to know that such kind of ‘whale puke’ exists and that it can potentially bring tons of money to whoever is the lucky person that can find it.
